How to Play
2026 NFL season · Weeks 1 through 17
You draft one team, once, and it plays the whole season for you. Every week it fights another entrant, and every week your boosters make your captains a little stronger.
- 1Draft your team in 5 minutesPick four captains and 16 boosters, locked for the season. Each leftover gold adds 2 XP to every captain's starting XP.
- 2Boosters bank XPYour 16 boosters earn XP from real NFL production every week, banked to the captain at their position.
- 3Levelled-up captains score moreEvery 10 XP a captain banks gives him +2% on his weekly points, for the rest of the season.
- 4Win your weekly battlesEach week you battle a random opponent, head to head. Lose the week, lose a life. You start with 4. Invite friends to earn 1 extra life (automatic on any paid plan, past or present) or win a lost life back, both until Week 4.
- 5Outlast the field, split $2,500Week 17 is the finale tiebreaker: anyone still alive scores against the field and the top 4 split the pool, based on their finishing position.
The draft
You pick 4 captains, one at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end, out of a 100-gold wallet. Then you pick 16 boosters: 4 slots at each position, choosing 1 of the 3 players offered in each slot. It takes about 5 minutes.
Nothing is final until your first week's matchups are drawn. Until then you can redraft as often as you like; at that moment your roster locks for the rest of the season, injuries and trades included. Gold you did not spend is not wasted: every unspent gold adds 2 XP to each captain's starting XP.
XP and levels
Your boosters feed the captain at their position: each one banks XP every week from his real NFL production, and that XP goes to the captain at his position. Every 10 XP a captain banks gives him +2% on his weekly points for the rest of the season, so a captain at 250 XP scores +50%. There is no cap.
The exception is a captain who has no game that week, from a bye, an injury, or an inactive. Then the first of his boosters who did play is substituted in and scores at the captain's boost. If none of them played, that captain contributes 0.
XP credits when a week is graded, so the boost you score a week at is the one you earned through the week before. If you enter late, the weeks you missed still pay: each booster slot credits the average of its 3 players, so your carried-in XP does not depend on a choice you never got to make.
The weekly battle
Every week you are paired against a random opponent, drawn Wednesday morning once the previous week is graded. Your battle score is your 4 captains' PPR points times their multipliers. The lower score loses a life, a tie is a push, and when the field is odd somebody draws a bye with no life at risk.
You start with 4 lives. Entries close when Week 4 matchups are drawn, and every full week you wait before entering costs one life, never dropping you below 1. You can earn 1 extra life by sharing LineCrush with friends, or by going paid; any paid plan counts, even a past paid trial or membership; either way it has to be earned before those same Week 4 matchups are drawn.
And if you lose a life after Week 1, you can earn one back by sharing with 1 more friend (2 total), any time before those Week 4 matchups are drawn.
The finale and prizes
Week 17 is the finale tiebreaker. There are no matchups: anyone still alive scores that week against the whole remaining field, ranked by battle points, then banked gold, then cumulative season points. The top 4 split the $2,500 pool, based on their finishing position.
